The Committee notes the Government's reference to its earlier report submitted in 1985 concerning the actions taken for the compilation of statistics of wages and hours of work as well as the difficulties encountered. The Government again indicates that it has requested the Central Statistics Bureau to take measures in this regard.
The Committee hopes that the Government will soon be able to supply information on the progress made in compiling, publishing and communicating to the ILO statistics relating to wages and hours of work (Article 1 of the Convention) in pursuance, in particular, of the provisions of Articles 5, 8 and 12.
In the meantime, the Committee notes the statistics supplied with the Government's report, which concern earnings and hours of work in enterprises of the public sector in 1987, and in private and cooperative building in February 1990. It requests the Government to supply further information regarding the source of the data for private and cooperative building and to indicate whether such data are being compiled on a regular basis.
