The Committee notes that the Government’s report contains no reply to previous comments. It hopes that the next report will include full information on the matters raised in its previous direct request, which read as follows:

The Committee notes the information in the Government’s reports and requests further particulars on the following points.

Article 4, paragraph 2, of the Convention. The Committee draws the Government’s attention to the requirement in this Article that the identity document contain a statement that it is a seafarer’s identity document for the purpose of this Convention. It requests the Government to ensure that this statement is included and to forward a specimen of the amended document.

Article 6, paragraph 1, of the Convention. The Committee requests the Government to indicate the texts giving effect to the reciprocal right to temporary shore leave in Algeria for foreign seafarers issued with the identity document.
