The Committee notes the information provided in the Government’s report. It would be grateful if the Government would provide, in accordance with Part V of the report form, general information on the manner in which the Convention is applied in practice, including, for instance, details on the number of professional fishers covered by the Convention and statistics, if available, on the number of medical examinations carried out and medical certificates issued each year. The Committee also requests information on the economic importance of the fishing sector, copies of publications or studies by public bodies, such as the National Fishing Institute (INP), on human resources in the sector, and extracts from inspection service reports containing information on the number and nature of the violations reported and the penalties imposed.
