Dock Work Convention, 1973 (No. 137) - Afghanistan (Ratification: 1979)

The Committee notes the Government’s reply received in April 2007 reiterating that, as a landlocked country, the conditions to implement the Convention in Afghanistan do not exist. The Government indicates that there are no dockworkers in the country and it intends to denounce the Convention after the approval by Cabinet and the National Assembly. The Committee notes again that, since the ratification of the Convention, it has never been possible to examine a detailed report on its application. It invites the Government to keep it informed of the denunciation of the Convention.
