Articles 1 and 2 of the Convention. Implementing legislation. The Committee notes the Government’s indication that the provisions of the Convention that apply to fishers engaged in international travel is included in the draft law on maritime safety, which is not yet in force. The Committee requests the Government to transmit a copy of the law on maritime safety once it has been adopted. The Committee further notes the Government’s statement that the fisher’s conditions of employment for national fishers are regulated by the general Labour Law. The Committee requests the Government to specify how it is given effect to certain fishing-specific requirements of the Convention, such as the inclusion in the articles of agreement of particulars on the scale of provisions to be supplied to the fisher or on the amount of his share if remunerated on a share of the catch basis (Article 6(3)), the obligation to record or annex the articles of agreement to the crew list (Article 7), or the need to take measures to enable clear information to be obtained on board as to the conditions of employment (Article 8).
