Protection of Wages Convention, 1949 (No. 95) - Panama (Ratification: 1970)

Article 12(1) of the Convention. Regular payment of wages. In its previous comments, the Committee noted the Government’s commitment to the payment of the arrears of the 13th month’s wages for public employees and its proposal to proceed to their payment in stages as from 2013, and it requested the Government to provide information on any progress achieved in this respect. The Committee notes with interest that, as indicated by the Government in its report, payment was made of wage arrears to thousands of public servants for the years 1989, 1990 and 1991 through the mechanism established by Act No. 40 of 11 June 2013.
