The complainant organizations allege the unilateral adoption of government guidelines affecting the autonomous nature of collective bargaining without full consultation with social partners; the qualification of a strike as illegal with regard to its objective of opposing government policy; criminal charges and prosecution of a union leader in relation to the organization of a strike and participation in demonstrations; use of excessive police force against peaceful protestors resulting in injury and arrest and prosecution of union members and officials for participation in demonstrations
