- 145. When the Committee examined this case at its 18th, 19th and 20th Sessions, it made a number of recommendations to the Governing Body in its 27th, 28th and 30th Reports, approved respectively by the Governing Body at its 137th Session (October-November 1957), 138th Session (March 1958) and 140th Session (November 1958).
- 146. At its meeting in November 1959, the Committee, after considering the latest information then received from the Government with respect to progress made in relaxing the restriction orders still in force in respect of trade union officials and members, recommended the Governing Body:
- (a) to note the Government's statement that the number of restriction orders in force in respect of the 28 trade union officials or members named in the complaints has been reduced to 11, one of these having been suspended subject to good behaviour on the part of the person concerned;
- (b) to express the hope that it will be possible to relax the ten restriction orders still in force at an early date, so as to permit of all the trade union officers concerned resuming their trade union functions in full freedom;
- (c) to request the Government to be good enough to keep the Governing Body informed of any developments in this connection.
- 147. On 11 February 1960 the Government of the United Kingdom addressed a letter to the Director-General of the I.L.O in which it stated that all the 11 restriction orders referred to above had now been removed.

- 148. In these circumstances, the Committee recommends the Governing Body:
- (a) to take note of the conclusions contained in paragraph 200 of the 41st Report of the Committee;
- (b) to note with satisfaction the termination of the remaining 11 restriction orders which had been in force in respect of trade union officials and members.
