Effect given to the recommendations of the Committee and the Governing Body

1. 176. At its meeting in March 2005, the Committee requested the Government to communicate the details of the rulings handed down with respect to the dismissal of trade unionists Siviria and Acuña, and to indicate whether the trade unionist Montero had initiated legal action in connection with his dismissal (these persons had been dismissed for establishing the Trade Union of Revolutionary Workers of the New Millennium and had been working in the INLACA Corporation) [see 336th Report, para. 137].
2. 177. In its communication dated 16 January 2006, the Government merely reiterated its earlier statements.
3. 178. The Committee asks the Government to communicate to it the information and rulings it requested in its previous examination of the case. The Committee recalls that the allegations date back to 2001 and stresses that justice delayed is justice denied [see Digest of decisions and principles of the Freedom of Association Committee, 4th edition, 1996, para. 56]. The Committee trusts that the judicial authorities will hand down their ruling in the very near future.
