Effect given to the recommendations of the committee and the Governing Body

1. 35. The Committee last examined this case at its March 2016 meeting [see 377th Report, paras 37–41]. The Committee took note of information provided with regard to recommendations (a) and (b), on judicial action filed by the Democratic Union of the Judiciary (SDJ) and measures taken to continue peaceful discussions between the Ministry of Justice and the SDJ. Regarding the draft law on trade unions (recommendation (c)), the Committee urged the Government to keep it informed of any new developments in that regard and to send a copy of the law once adopted.
2. 36. In its communication dated 25 October 2017, the Government provided supplementary information on recommendations (a) and (b). With respect to recommendation (c), the Government stated in a communication dated 12 February 2021 that the draft law on trade unions was still at the stage of consultations with the social partners.
3. 37. Noting the information provided by the Government regarding the adoption of the draft law on trade unions, the Committee requests the Government to keep it informed of any new developments in this regard and to send a copy of the law once it has been adopted.
