Decision

Decision
  1. Taking note of the report on progress made with the implementation of the road map of actions and mindful of its 2021–26 timeline as well as of results yet to be achieved, the Governing Body:
    • a) noted the strong commitment made by the Government of Bangladesh to engage in further tripartite consultations, with the technical assistance of the Office, to address the outstanding issues mentioned in the article 26 complaint concerning the alleged non-observance of Conventions Nos 81, 87 and 98 in the ongoing labour law reform;
    • b) called on the Government and the social partners to pursue their tripartite consultations on the labour law reform in a constructive manner with a view to bringing about all necessary reforms as a matter of priority, with the ILO technical assistance and the support that could be provided by the secretariats of the Employers’ and Workers’ groups;
    • c) requested the Government to report on further progress made in the implementation of the road map of actions to address all the outstanding issues mentioned in the article 26 complaint at its 352nd Session (October–November 2024);
    • d) deferred to its 352nd Session the decision to consider further action in respect of the article 26 complaint, in light of the follow-up given to paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) above.
