The Committee notes that the Government’s report has not been received. It hopes that a report will be supplied for examination by the Committee at its next session and that it will contain full information on the matters raised in its previous direct request, which reads as follows:
Tanganyika
Article 1 of the Convention. The Committee notes from the Government’s report received in October 1990 that the Employment and Earnings Survey has not been published for the years 1981-84 but its publications should be out in November 1990. It hopes that the results of the said survey will be published and communicated to the ILO in the near future, and requests the Government to keep it informed on any steps taken or proposed to this end.
Part III. Noting that the Government’s reports received since the previous direct request do not indicate any progress regarding the application of this part of the Convention, it requests the Government to supply information on any measures taken or envisaged to collect data on time rates of wages and normal hours of work, and to communicate a copy of Government Notice No. 152 of 1972, which the Committee requested in its previous direct request.
Zanzibar
The Committee notes the Government’s indication that efforts are being made to collect statistics of wages and hours of work in Zanzibar, and requests the Government to supply information on any steps taken or contemplated in this connection.
