Article 5(1) of the Convention. Effective tripartite consultations. The Government indicates in its report that the ILO Consultative Group met nine times during the reporting period, primarily for the purpose of briefing the tripartite partners in advance of the sessions of the Governing Body and the International Labour Conference. The Government adds that there were also numerous less formal consultations during the reporting period, such as extensive tripartite consultations with respect to the 2014–15 discussions on the Transition from the Informal to the Formal Economy Recommendation, 2015 (No. 204), and the 2015–16 discussions on the Employment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilience Recommendation, 2017 (No. 205). Moreover, the Committee notes with interest the Government’s indication that the Department of Labor has undertaken a review of the consolidated Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006), with a view to tripartite review and consideration of its possible ratification. The Committee requests the Government to continue to provide information on the content and outcome of tripartite consultations held on all matters concerning international labour standards covered by the Convention, particularly with regard to progress made in re-examining prospects of ratification of unratified Conventions.
