Convention (n° 11) sur le droit d'association (agriculture), 1921 - Jamaïque (Ratification: 1963)

The Committee notes the observations of Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JCTU), transmitted with the Government’s report, alleging obstacles to the right of association in the agricultural sector. The JCTU alleges, in particular, that in the case of triangular employment relationships (outsourcing) and taking into consideration the casual or seasonal nature of employment in that sector, workers fear not being hired again if they choose to defend their right to association. The Committee requests the Government to provide its comments in this regard.
