Article 1 of the Convention. National policy. The Committee notes that, according to the information provided by the Government in its report: (1) the draft Child Protection Code has not yet been adopted, but that the Committee will be kept informed of its adoption; and (2) that Order No. 04/PR/PM/MFFSN/SG/DE/2016 created child protection committees in all the regions of the country. It notes with interest, according to the Government’s supplementary report, the adoption of the first Child Protection Policy in Chad 2023–30, which takes into account the persistent issues relating to the protection of children, including action to combat child labour. The Committee further notes: (1) that the Government participated, on 10 June 2021, in the World Day Against Child Labour in Africa, with the African Union, the ILO and UNICEF; and (2) the adoption of the African Union Ten Year Action Plan to Eradicate Child Labour 2020–30, which gives priority to action to combat child labour in agriculture at the continental, regional and national levels. The Committee requests the Government to provide information on the specific measures adopted, and the results achieved, with a view to the effective abolition of child labour in the country, including within the framework of the Child Protection Policy in Chad 2023–30 and the African Union Ten Year Action Plan to Eradicate Child Labour 2020–30 and by the child protection committees. It also once again requests the Government to provide a copy of the Child Protection Code once it has been adopted.
