Follow-up to the conclusions of the Committee on the Application of Standards (International Labour Conference, 111th Session, June 2023)

Article I of the Convention. General questions on application. Implementing measures. The Committee notes that, following the examination of the implementation of the Convention by Gabon by the Committee on the Application of Standards in June 2023, at the 111th Session of the International Labour Conference, and further to Government’s request for technical assistance, the Government has received support from the Office. The Committee notes in this regard that the Government indicates in its report that, in close consultation with the social partners and with the technical support of the Office, it has conducted an analysis of its legislation to identify the amendments required to ensure the full implementation of the Convention. The Committee welcomes in this regard the preparation of a first draft of a decree implementing the Convention, with a view to supplementing the existing legislative provisions. The Committee requests the Government to adopt without further delay all the necessary measures to ensure the full implementation of the provisions of the Convention, taking into account the points raised in the request that it is addressing directly to the Government. It also requests the Government to forward the text of the decree to it as soon as it is adopted so that it can examine its conformity with the Convention.
The Committee is raising other matters in a request addressed directly to the Government.
