Case No 2130 (Argentina) - Complaint date: 10-JUN-01
The Congress of Argentine Workers (CTA)
Allegations
|
| The complainant organization alleges that the authorities refuse to grant legal trade union status to the Fishing and Allied Workers’ Union (SIPES) claiming that it is absolutely essential that dependent employment relationships exist in the sector, whereas in reality only 20 per cent of the workers in the fish manufacturing sector have dependent employment relationships and 80 per cent of them are enrolled in the fraudulent outsourcing system of cooperative associations established to lower labour costs and in which employers recruit their workforce through intermediaries. The right to establish representation committees in enterprises is also being denied. |
