The Committee notes the decision adopted by the Governing Body at its 353rd Session to establish a Commission of Inquiry in relation to the complaint alleging non-observance by Nicaragua of the Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise Convention, 1948 (No. 87), the Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention, 1949 (No. 98), the Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958 (No. 111), and the Tripartite Consultation (International Labour Standards) Convention, 1976 (No. 144). In these circumstances, and in accordance with the usual practice of suspending the operation of the other supervisory mechanisms during the mandate of the Commission of Inquiry, the Committee will resume its examination of the application of the Convention by Nicaragua once the Commission of Inquiry has completed its mandate.
