Article 3 of the Convention. Articles of agreement. In reply to its previous comments related to the measures taken to guarantee that fishers sign the articles of agreement under conditions that ensure adequate supervision by the competent authority, the Committee notes the Government’s reference to the provisions of Chapter II of the Maritime Code as amended on 12 July 2023, which apply to all crew members sailing on ships flying the Slovenian flag, unless they are working on a ship sailing exclusively within internal waters and territorial sea of the Republic of Slovenia. The Committee recalls that, according to its Article 1, paragraph 1, the Convention applies to all registered or documented ships and boats which are engaged in maritime fishing in salt waters. The Committee accordingly requests the Government to clarify how it ensures adequate protection of the fishers working on ships falling within the scope of application of the Convention.
