Direct Request (CEACR) - adopted 2024, published 113rd ILC session (2025)

The Committee notes the observations of the International Confederation of Workers (CIT), communicated with the Government’s report, as well as the observations of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), received on 25 November 2024, both of which are of a general nature. It further notes the observations of the Authentic Workers’ Confederation of the Republic of Mexico (CAT), also transmitted by the Government, which allege a lack of protection and facilities for trade union representatives in practice. The Committee requests the Governments to provide its comments in this regard.
The Committee also notes the observations formulated by the National Union of Workers (UNT), in a communication of 13 September 2024 concerning the Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise Convention, 1948 (No. 87) and the Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention, 1949 (No. 98), alleging refusal to grant trade union leave and to allow free access of trade union leaders to workplaces in the public sector. The Committee requests the Government to provide its comments in this regard.
