Convenio sobre las peores formas de trabajo infantil, 1999 (núm. 182) - Curazao

Articles 3(c) and 4 of the Convention. Worst forms of child labour. Hazardous work and determination of hazardous work. Following its previous comments, the Committee notes the Government’s indication, in its report, that the list of hazardous types of work prohibited to young persons under the age of 18 years is established in the Employment Decree for Juveniles.

The Committee notes, from the official website of the Government of Curaçao, that the Employment Decree for Juveniles (P.B. 2022, No. 68) was consolidated and updated in 2022. The Committee notes with satisfaction that the Decree contains a list of 27 occupations and industries prohibited to children under the age of 18 years, including, among others, exposure to harmful substances, the use of dangerous machinery, and the operation of lifting equipment.

The Committee is raising other matters in a request addressed directly to the Government.
