Convenio sobre el trabajo marítimo, 2006 (MLC, 2006) - República Árabe Siria (Ratificación : 2023)

The Committee notes the Government’s brief report on the application of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, as amended (MLC, 2006). It notes the Government’s indication that the political situation prevailing in the country and the changes in the regime had delayed the full implementation of the Convention and the submission of a comprehensive first report. The Committee further notes the Government’s request for ILO’s technical assistance to support the implementation of the MLC, 2006. The Committee trusts that, despite the significant challenges faced, the Government will make every effort to adopt the necessary measures to implement the Convention and submit a detailed first report. It invites the Government to continue to avail itself of the technical assistance of the Office to facilitate progress in this regard.
