Convenio sobre el trabajo en la pesca, 2007 (núm. 188) - Tailandia (Ratificación : 2019)

The Committee notes the Government’s second report on the application of the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188), its reply to the 2024 observations of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), as well as the new observations of the ITF received on 1 September 2025. The Committee notes that the ITF alleges, inter alia, that the rights of fishers, especially migrant fishers, have further deteriorated due to extreme working conditions and poor inspection and enforcement of the provisions of the Convention, which exacerbate conditions which amount to forced labour. The Committee requests the Government to provide its comments in reply to the ITF’s observations. The Committee will examine ITF’s allegations and the Government’s reply as well as all pending issues related to the implementation of the Convention at its next session in November-December 2026.
