The Committee notes that section 125 of the Labour Code of 1984, which establishes a compulsory weekly rest period, provides for an Order to determine its application. The Committee hopes that, in the preparation of the above Order, its previous comments will be taken into account. The Committee recalls that, in its direct request of 1983, it noted that, under section 11 of Order No. 54-87/C of 12 May 1943, in the event of weekly rest being suspended for the execution of urgent work in order to prevent accidents or repair the damage they cause, workers of the enterprise in which urgent work is necessary, apart from those normally assigned to maintenance and repair work, do not appear to receive compensatory rest, as required under Article 8, paragraph 3, of the Convention.
