Article 7(1) and (3) of the Convention. Determination of light work. The Committee notes the Government’s reference in its report to the adoption of Order No. 2023-095/MFPTPS/SG/DGPS of 31 August 2023 issuing exemptions from the minimum age for admission to employment and establishing conditions and arrangements for the performance of light work.
The Committee notes that section 1 of the Order establishes the minimum age for admission to light work as 13 to 16 years and that section 4 establishes the conditions and arrangements for implementation of the Order, including: (i) the prohibition of light work during school term time or vocational training; (ii) the obligation to have a continuous period of rest during the school holidays which amounts to at least half the total length of the school holidays; and (iii) the maximum authorized duration of four and a half hours for light work in Saturdays during school term time. The Committee requests the Government to provide information on the application in practice of Order No. 2023-095/MFPTPS/SG/DGPS of 31 August 2023 issuing exemptions from the minimum age for admission to employment and establishing conditions and arrangements for the performance of light work.
