Convention (n° 95) sur la protection du salaire, 1949 - Grenade (Ratification: 1979)

Article 8 of the Convention. Deductions from wages. In previous comments, the Committee requested the Government to indicate under which conditions and to which extent deductions allowed under section 49(2) of the Employment Act can be made. The Committee notes the Government’s indication in its report that the above-mentioned Act does not provide for the extent to which deductions from wages may be permitted. It also indicates that the Employment Act was revised but that the revisions have not yet been adopted. The Committee requests the Government to take the necessary measures, including the revision of the Employment Act, to give full effect to this Article of the Convention. The Committee also requests the Government to communicate any progress made in this regard, mainly on the adoption of new legislation on this subject.
