Article 4 of the Convention. Promotion of collective bargaining. The Committee notes with satisfaction the Government’s indication that the provisions of Act No. 59/2016 on the right to organize and trade union activities in workplaces, collective bargaining and the right to strike facilitated, between 2022 and 2025, the renewal of nine sectoral collective agreements, the erga omnes applicability of which was approved by the majority vote of the workers concerned, in accordance with the provisions of the above-mentioned Act. The Committee notes with interest that the nine sectoral agreements cover the country’s main activity branches, in both the private and public sectors (industry, insurance, banking, construction, services, bars, restaurants and hotels, public utility companies and public administration). The Committee requests the Government to continue to provide information on the number of collective agreements adopted or renewed, and to continue to indicate the sectors concerned, specifying the percentage of the country’s workforce covered by the collective agreements in force.
