Article 9(1). Penalties and labour inspection. The Committee notes the data provided by the Government indicating that, in 2024, labour inspectors recorded 22 violations relating to the employment of juveniles for more than seven hours and eight violations concerning not having the required working documents. The Committee also takes note of the workshop held by the ILO and UNICEF in 2021 to support Syrian labour inspectors, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour (MOSAL), and employers, in acting against and monitoring child labour –especially hazardous child labour. 

The Committee encourages the Government to continue to provide updated information on the number of investigations conducted by the labour inspectors, the number of violations detected and the penalties imposed.
